The Rodale Book Of Composting contains everything you didn’t know about composting, and probably all the information you’ll ever need on composting.

Chapters include:

  • Composting Throughout History
  • Benefits of Compost
  • Life Inside A Compost Heap
  • Compost And Plant Health
  • Using Manure
  • Composting With Earthworms
  • Compost Structures

and more. Whew

If you’re just a backyard gardener, this is more composting information than you need, but if you SERIOUSLY want to learn the nitty gritty on composting (and that’s why I bought it), then this is the book for you. After you read this, you’ll be able to take one look at your compost pile and know why it’s doing great or not so great. You’ll also learn about all of the things you’re throwing away, adding to your trash stream, when they could be going into your compost.

The Rodale Book Of Composting is an excellent reference source, but a little heavy on the detail for most passive gardeners.
