Review: Rodale Book Of Composting: Easy Methods For Every Gardener

Buy on Amazon: The Rodale Book of Composting: Easy Methods for Every Gardener

The Rodale Book Of Composting contains everything you didn’t know about composting, and probably all the information you’ll ever need on composting.

Rodale Book of Composting takes the reader through everything from the basics of composting, like what exactly can go into your compost pile to composting throughout history. It also contains chapters on using manure to compost, earthworms, why compost is superior for plant health, and various designs for building compost bins.

If you’re just a backyard gardener, this is more composting information than you need, but if you SERIOUSLY want to learn the nitty-gritty on composting (and that’s why I bought it), then this is the book for you. After you read this, you’ll be able to take one look at your compost pile and know why it’s cooking or not, why it might be creating an odor, and how to address these problems. You’ll also learn about all of the things you’re adding to your trash stream which could instead be going into your compost to feed your plants.

I can safely say that this is probably the most in-depth book on composting that you’ll ever read. The Rodale Book Of Composting is an excellent reference source but may be heavy on the detail for beginning gardeners.
